Celiac Disease 101

As many of you may know, I have this thing called "Celiac Disease" and it is something that I was born with. Celiac is not contagious,  so just keep that in mind while you are reading this.

With  Celiac I can not eat wheat or gluten (Gluten is: Bulgur, Durum flour, Farina, Graham flour, Kamut, Semolina, Spelt, Barley (AKA Malt), Rye, Triticale (a cross between wheat and rye), and of course, Wheat.)

When I eat gluten It messes up my intestines, and could eventually lead to several different cancers and diseases. There are also temporary things when I eat it, such as Stomach pains, Joint Pains, Head Aches, Vomiting, and many more things. There is this thing known in the allergy world as "Cheating" It is just how it sounds, it is when you "Cheat" on your diet. Which means you don't follow your diet. I know that most people do this while they are on their diets to lose weight, and that is why some people ask me, well why cant you just cheat for today. Sometimes I can but sometimes it will make me sick. I try not to "Cheat" often, maybe every few months.

Celiac Disese is just the same as being allergic to peanuts, it is just wheat!
